The Crystal Gala—your Crystal Gala—has built a reputation as the most elegant and exciting fundraising event in Abbotsford and surrounding areas of the Fraser Valley. Elaborate décor, decadent meal service, and engaging entertainment are always on the evening’s agenda:

• Guests are greeted with a Crystal Gala themed reception drink and appetizers
• Silent auction and/or market place and games for pleasure throughout the evening
• A multi-course gourmet plated dinner is served, with wine
• Live auction excitement after dinner
• Entertainment and dancing until the wee hours

2011 – The 13th annual Crystal Gala, Taming the Dragon highlights included

• a reception martini made from Lychee and dragon fruits and served in Chinese tea cups, along with dim-sum-style appetizers;
• the Chinatown marketplace where you could either bid on fantastic gifts or take out your cheque book and “buy now”;
• Pamela Martin, former broadcaster and TV personality, as emcee;
• Lee’s Lanterns, which was your chance to win a beautiful emerald necklace designed by Brian Lee especially for the Crystal Gala;
• the Rice to Riches game that gave you the opportunity to win diamond earrings from Gem Goldsmith;
• a flight for two from WestJet for the winner of Heads ‘n Tales, which this year we titled, Ying and Yang;
• a delicious three-course gourmet Asian-inspired plated dinner (the first course was served in charming Chinese dishes that were washed and then returned to patrons to take home with them at the end of the evening);
• wine at the dinner table; and
• live auction action that saw lucky and generous participants leave with a trip to China, a coveted Man Cave, works of art, creative evenings of cooking and eating, and a year’s worth of ice-cream cake from Tim Horton’s Coldstone Creamery that garnered first a winning bid of $10,000, followed by four more winning bids of $5,000 each. That’s $30,000 for ice-cream cake, folks!

The night finished with dancing until the wee hours to the much-loved tunes of Dr. Strangelove.

The Crystal Gala Foundation is based in Abbotsford, BC, but serves the people of the Fraser Valley, from Surrey and Langley to Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Hope to Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Mission, and Maple Ridge.

The Foundation, made up of a group of dynamic women from all walks of life, meets monthly around a kitchen table, but achieves boardroom results. These women have one goal in mind: raise money to help promote and achieve breast health and support the women and families who suffer the effects of breast cancer.
